Your agreement when you accept work through HandyConnect.
This Provider Agreement applies whenever you express interest in a job, send a contract, perform work, or accept payouts through the HandyConnect platform. Read it together with our Terms of Service, Independent Contractor Disclaimer, and Acceptable Use Policy.
This Handyman / Provider Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you (“Handyman,” “Provider,” or “you”) and HandyConnect LLC(“HandyConnect,” “we”). By creating a Handyman account or accepting a job through the Platform, you agree to these terms.
1. Independent Contractor
You are an independent contractor. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, agency, partnership, or franchise relationship between you and HandyConnect LLC. You set your own hours, choose which jobs to accept, set your own pricing, and decide how to perform the work. HandyConnect does not direct, supervise, train, or control how you perform any job. You are responsible for your own taxes, withholdings, and benefits. See the Independent Contractor Disclaimer for full detail.
2. Eligibility and Credentials
You represent and warrant that: (a) you are at least 18 years old; (b) you are legally authorized to perform the work you offer in your service area; (c) you hold all licenses, permits, and certifications required by applicable law for the trades you list; (d) you maintain any insurance required by law or by the customer; and (e) the information on your profile is accurate and current. You agree to update your profile when these facts change.
3. The Contract Is With the Customer
When a Customer accepts a contract you propose through the Platform, you are entering a binding electronic agreement directly with that Customer, governed by the federal E-SIGN Act and UETA. HandyConnect is not a party to that contract. HandyConnect is not your client, employer, or co-signer.
4. Workmanship Standard
You agree to perform every job in a workmanlike manner, consistent with industry practice for your trade, and in compliance with applicable building codes, manufacturer instructions, and any project-specific requirements you accept in the contract. You will cure defects in your workmanship at no additional cost to the Customer for a reasonable period after completion, as required by your contract or applicable law.
5. Payouts and Stripe Connect
Customer payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. through a Stripe Connect account that you set up. HandyConnect facilitates the payout from the Customer’s payment to your bank account, less any platform fees, taxes, refunds, or chargebacks. You authorize HandyConnect and Stripe to debit, hold, or reverse payouts as necessary to complete refunds, dispute outcomes, or to correct errors. You are responsible for keeping your Stripe Connect account in good standing. Failure to complete identity verification or banking setup may delay your payouts.
6. Platform Fees and Subscriptions
HandyConnect may charge platform fees, subscription fees, or per-job marketplace fees as disclosed at the time of transaction or in your subscription. Fee structures may change on reasonable notice. Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law.
7. Cancellations and No-Shows
Late cancellations or no-shows by you may result in cancellation fees, account suspension, or removal from search results. Repeated no-shows are grounds for termination. If you must cancel, communicate with the Customer in-app and update the job status promptly so the Customer can rebook.
8. Insurance and Liability
You are required to obtain and continuously maintain, at your own expense, general liability insurance appropriate to the services you offer, together with any workers’ compensation, automobile, or other coverage required by applicable law or by the Customer’s property, building, or homeowners’ association. You represent and warrant that such coverage is in force whenever you accept or perform a job.
You agree to provide current proof of coverage to HandyConnect or to a Customer upon request, and you authorize HandyConnect to suspend, limit, or remove your account if you fail to do so or if your coverage lapses. HandyConnect has no obligation to verify, and does not verify, that you maintain any insurance.
You remain solely liable for property damage, personal injury, illness, death, or any other harm caused by your work or your subcontractors, whether or not you carry insurance, and you agree to indemnify and hold HandyConnect harmless from any claim arising from your work, your conduct, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
9. No Off-Platform Solicitation
You agree not to circumvent the Platform by soliciting Customers you met through HandyConnect to transact off-platform within twelve (12) months of your first connection. Off-platform circumvention deprives HandyConnect of fees that pay for the trust, payment, dispute, and discovery infrastructure you use, and may result in account termination and recovery of fees.
10. Reviews, Ratings, and Reputation
Reviews on HandyConnect are bidirectional and may not be removed simply because they are negative. Reviews must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Repeated low ratings, verified policy violations, or fraud signals may result in reduced visibility, suspension, or termination of your account.
11. Verification and Trust Score
You may submit verification documents (government ID, trade license, insurance, certifications) for review. HandyConnect, or its identity-verification vendor, may verify, re-verify, or reject documents at any time. Your trust score and verified-pro status may fluctuate as documents expire, are revoked, or as your performance signals change.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for safety, fraud, repeated cancellations, or any violation of our policies. You may deactivate your account at any time, though obligations for completed jobs, refund liabilities, and the no-circumvention provision survive termination.
