Independent Contractor DisclaimerEffective May 7, 2026

Handymen are independent contractors. Not employees.

This disclaimer makes the relationship between HandyConnect and Handymen explicit. It also clarifies what HandyConnect does and does not do.

HandyConnect LLC operates the HandyConnect marketplace as a technology platform. Handymen who use the Platform are independent contractors. HandyConnect does not employ, dispatch, supervise, or control any Handyman.

1. Independent Contractor Status

Handymen on HandyConnect are independent contractors operating their own businesses. They are not employees, agents, partners, joint venturers, or franchisees of HandyConnect LLC. No part of using the Platform creates an employer/employee relationship between HandyConnect and any Handyman.

2. No Direction or Control

HandyConnect does not direct or control how Handymen do their work. Handymen choose: which jobs to accept, when to work, what tools and methods to use, what prices to charge, what materials to source, and whether to subcontract any portion of the work (subject to the Customer’s contract). Any guidance HandyConnect provides — for example, profile recommendations, suggested pricing, or trust-score guidance — is informational and is not a direction or order.

3. No Wages, Benefits, or Withholding

HandyConnect does not pay wages, salary, overtime, vacation, sick leave, retirement benefits, health insurance, unemployment, or workers’ compensation to Handymen. HandyConnect does not withhold income taxes, payroll taxes, or any other amounts from Handyman payouts. Handymen are responsible for their own self-employment taxes, withholding, and benefits.

4. Tools, Equipment, and Vehicles

Handymen supply their own tools, materials, equipment, vehicles, and any subcontractors they choose to use. HandyConnect does not provide trade-specific equipment or transportation for any job.

5. Customer Contract, Not Platform Contract

The contract for the home-service work is between the Customer and the Handyman. HandyConnect is not a party to that contract. HandyConnect is not the Handyman’s client, employer, or co-signer.

6. No Guarantee of Work or Earnings

HandyConnect does not guarantee any specific amount of work, leads, applications, conversions, or earnings. Earnings vary based on Handyman quality, pricing, responsiveness, service area, and demand. Statements about typical earnings, if any, are illustrative and are not promises.

7. Compliance With Law

Handymen are responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local laws relevant to their work, including licensing, permits, building codes, occupational safety, vehicle registration, and tax filings. HandyConnect does not represent that any Handyman is in compliance with such laws.

8. Misclassification Indemnity

If any government authority, court, or third party asserts that a Handyman should have been classified as an employee of HandyConnect LLC, the affected Handyman agrees to cooperate in HandyConnect LLC’s defense and to indemnify HandyConnect for any resulting taxes, penalties, fees, or judgments to the extent such reclassification arises from the Handyman’s own representations or filings.
